The season is off and running. While the result was not what we hoped for there were many positives even though Calvin Christian JV Lady Squires fell to West Michigan Christian 35-27 on Tuesday night at Calvin Christian. 

Calvin was behind 14 - 8 at halftime, cut the lead to 24 - 19 after three quarters but could not finish off the comeback in the fourth quarter. Calvin Christian was facing a West Michigan Christian team featuring three tall post players that accounted for 29 of their 35 points on the evening. The height and strength on the boards were too much to overcome. 

Six of nine player for Calvin Christian scored during the game led by Lizzie Vos with 11. Ashleigh Dornbos, Hanna Kroeze and Kiaya DeHaan all chipped in 4 points. Courtney Ilbrink and Ellie Kosiara both finished with 2 a piece.

Next up is a home game on Thursday at 7 PM versus Unity Christian. The Girls' Freshmen play their first game of the season starting at 5:30. On Friday, the Girls's Varsity play at Unity Christian at 6 PM followed by the Boys' Varisty at 7:30.
