Calvin Christian went on the road and handed Hopkins their first league loss with a overtime win 59 - 56 after traing by 7 at half time! A great team win was lead by senior Macy Verbeek who finished with 21 points and who had a huge steal in overtime to score a key basket in the last minute. The team used a box and one defense in the second half with junior Claire Boomstra stepping it up and shutting down one of the leagues best in senior Mady Weber in the second half. Claire also went 6 for 6 from the line in the fourth quarter and overtime. Addy Rhodes had 14 points, Karsen Balmer 11, Boomstra 6, Ella Walcott 4, Grace Walcott 2 and Leila Nelson 1. The locker room cheer was one of the loudest that has been heard in years!

Calvin Christian is now 12 - 5 on the year and  6 - 3 in conference. The Squires head to Godwin Heights on Friday for a 6 PM contest prior to the boy's varsity game. Please come on out to support both of your varsity teams that are having excellent seasons so far this year.
